All About Feng Shui : What is Feng Shui

The ancient Chinese believe that our path in life, whether smooth of bumpy, is determined by a combination of destiny luck, timing luck and feng shui.

Destiny Luck is largely determined at birth. For example, if you are born tall, then you have a much greater chance of becoming a successful basketball player than someone else who is short. If you have loving parents who are also well to do, you will more opportunities than someone who come from a poorer or troubled family.

Next comes the time factor. The ancient belief that we will have good and bad periods throughout our lives. This pattern is determined by your place, date and time of birth. Timing luck is as important as destiny luck. If you have strong destiny luck but poor timing luck, it is like having a Ferrari but forced to drive on bumpy and unpaved road! You can still make it but not without the challenges.

The third factor is Feng Shui. Good Feng Shui can give your a boost during the good periods or support you when times are bad. Bad Feng Shui, on the other hand can make life really miserable when you timing luck is down!

In Chinese, 'Feng' means Wind while 'Shui' means Water. The two most powerful forces of nature - and the fundamentals of life. The underlying principle of Feng Shui is to live in harmony with your environment so that the energy surrounding you works for you rather than against you.

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese art of placement, which controls the flow of Chi around you. Feng Shui is a Healing art. It is meant to inspire, transform, help and assist you to achieve your goals

Feng Shui can be described as the natural path with the least resistance, which enhances the elements that orbit our senses. Some Chinese refer to this as "Qi" or as we know it, "Chi", which is literally translated as energy. This force is an invisible energy that circulates through our surrounding and senses.

How Feng Shui Works :
There are many external factors that can alter our emotions and our behaviour. Well-researched examples would be the lunar cycle, weather, seasons and colours.

To make Feng Shui work for you, it is important to look not just at your home and its furnishing but the circumstances and goals in making changes in your life, be they personal or professional. One of the main keys it to; "Keep your Attention on your Intention!".

Feng Shui will change your life, a little or a lot. It may not bring you what you want in the exact form you may expect, but rather what is in your best interests.

As you free up and generate more beneficial Chi, you will grow in all areas of your life, which in turn necessitates further changes in your environment. It's helpful to remember, as you get excited about Feng Shui and want to do everything at once, that "there is no final destination; it's all journey."

And Feng Shui will be there to empower your journey every step of the way as you grow, change, and prosper -- from the very moment you start using it, until your journey has ended.

The Five Elements Theory is one of the Main Theories of Feng Shui. You can bring powerful, life-changing results by applying it in your Life. The Five Elements, which are Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire, are the main manifestations of Chi, or vital energy and they play a very important role in creating the perfect environment.

  • WOOD - HEALTH AND VITALITY
  • FIRE - PASSION AND HIGH ENERGY
  • EARTH - NOURISHMENT AND STABILITY
  • METAL - CLARITY AND PRECISENESS
  • WATER - EASE, FRESHNESS AND ABUNDANCE

These aren't literally elements but qualities, constantly overcoming each other in a continuous cycle. It can be a creative and productive relationship; woods fuels fire, fire burns to ash or earth; earth give mineral or metal; when heated, metal flows like water; and water nourishes wood. In the destructive and/or negative relationship: wood takes nutrients from the earth; earth pollutes or absorbs water; water kills fire; fire melt metal and metal chops wood.

Ultimately, Feng Shui is a sound and sensible way of living with a conscious connection between our outside environment and our inner world.
